Kathy Perelka

All of my work is about color and the emotional effects of color.  I may do blueberry barrens, marshes, farms or abstracts but color is the distinguishing feature of my work.  Strong color and contrast work together to give the results I’m looking for.

When I’m in my studio working I find themes that make me upbeat and happy.  I think that feeling translates to my viewers.  Many of them have commented that viewing my work uplifts them and makes them feel happy.  And that is my ultimate goal.

My work tends to be nature connected.  I rarely do still-life or interiors.  I’m happier outdoors and my work reflects that.
